We go to great lengths to audit our reputable global supply partners to maintain full traceability on the products we offer and we carry out regular stringent product quality checks. These are all processes within our quality systems which allow us to hold full BRC accreditation. We are certified through our BRC A grade manufacturing site for the processing of fish and seafood as well as being BRC accredited for the storage and distribution of frozen food.
We have our own highly experienced technical team based in Hull who ensure all legal food safety requirements are met, whilst carrying out regular quality control checks.
Smales are members of the Frozen At Sea Fillets Association (FASFA) which is a trade organisation formed to improve awareness of the sustainability and quality of frozen at sea Cod and Haddock fillets. Members include quota holders from around the world as well as businesses like ourselves which process and distribute frozen at sea fillets in the UK.
In addition our membership with the British Frozen Food Association (BFFF), provides us with up to date information on legislative changes within the industry of frozen food.
